2014 Taste of Culpeper a Wine, Food, and Arts Festival

Culpeper, VA.                       Celebrate ten years of good taste!  Culpeper Renaissance’s tenth annual “Taste of Culpeper – a Wine, Food, and Arts Festival” will take place Sunday, October 12, 2014, in historic downtown Culpeper in the Depot District on Davis and Commerce Streets from Noon – 5:00p.m.  This event is sure to please wine enthusiasts, foodies, and followers of unique arts and crafts. Experience the very best in Virginia wines, local cuisine, and even a few ciders and microbrews will be available for purchase.    Enjoy all of this in Downtown Culpeper, and you’ll soon discover why it was named the winner of the 2012 “Great American Main Street Award”.

With more than 200 Virginia wineries and counting, Virginia wines are capturing the attention of consumers throughout the country and the world.  There really is no better time to come out and taste the success of Virginia.  You’ll have an opportunity to sample more than 30 different wines and visit with several new participating wineries at this year’s festival. 

Don’t miss the cooking demonstrations from some of your favorite local chefs, including Frank Maragos of Foti’s and Garth Hansen of the Culpeper Center/Deco.  And back by popular demand: the Downtown Culpeper Waiters Race, an entertaining test of a waiters speed and ability to carry a full tray without tipping it!

Fun and festivities for the entire family will promise an enjoyable fall afternoon with amazing LIVE music from incredible local talents Gold Top County Ramblers and William Walter.  FREE activities for children include a moonbounce, art projects, and games. 

With your tasting admission to CRI’s Taste of Culpeper, you will receive general admission, a souvenir wine glass to commemorate your day, and free tastings at each of the wineries and restaurants.  Find your favorites, relax, and stay a while as wine and lunch will also be available for purchase. If you want to stock your cellar, Taste of Culpeper wine totes will also be available for purchase to carry your favorite wines home.   

Buy advance tickets and save $10.00! CRI is encouraging those 21-and-older who would like to attend to purchase tickets early to ensure a spot at this exciting downtown event. Advance tickets are available for $15 and may be purchased ONLINE via www.tasteofculpeper.eventbrite.com or available through Saturday, October 11, 2014, at the following locations: Vinosity (174 East Davis Street), Randy’s Flowers (211 West Evans Street), all Culpeper Union First Market Bank locations, and the Culpeper Renaissance office (127 West Davis Street).  Tasting tickets may also be purchased at the gate on the day of the event for $25.00 for adults. General admission is $5.00 for designated drivers or those not wishing to participate in the wine tasting or purchase of beer (available at the gate only).  Admission for those 12 and under is FREE.  Food and some activities are not included in the cost of admission.
