Culpeper, VA.Everyone’s favorite Thursday returns when Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. kicks-off its Summer Concert Series on May 28, 2015, directly in front of the Depot. Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. is a development organization dedicated to enhancing, celebrating and enriching Culpeper’s historic downtown.
Due to the Fireman’s Parade on May 21st(another great reason to visit downtown), the 3rd Thursday Summer Concert Series begins May 28th, starting with the foot-tapping beats of Hotcakes, the East Coast’s #1 dance band. Guests won’t be able to resist kicking up their heels to a mix of Top 40 hits, as well as Motown, Beach, Oldies and a touch of Country. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to boogie. Hotcakes is sure to live up to their “dance party” reputation.
The musical festivities continue on June 18, 2015, with Souled Out’s soulful lead vocals and sweet flowing harmonies. This high-energy group of musicians really know how to please the crowd. Souled Out’s six member band blends soul, funk, rock and country in a way that is sure to keep the party movin’ and folks on the floor groovin’ from the first beat to the last.
July 16, 2015 features The Worx, an award-winning group. The Worx perform modern and classic rock ‘n’ roll covers as well as original material with such energetic enthusiasm that everyone will be on their feet for this highly-anticipated show. From their amazing classic rock-n-roll covers (that sound just like the original artists) to their owncrowd-pleasing hits, The Worx deliver an exciting show. Head to the Depot area ready to dance and sing–guests will see why crowds across Virginia love The Worx.
The 3rd Thursday Summer Concert Series finale will be held August 20, 2015, with The Woodshedders and The Dry Run Band. Opening the show, The Dry Run Band are true Southern-country rockers. Their wide range of influences and backgrounds create a blend of twang and grit, all while understanding the purity of traditional mountain music. Headlining, The Woodshedders consists of a five-person group of top-notch musicians who have released three original albums, with a fourth one in the making. Never disappointing their fans, they bring an upbeat, dance-inducing sound that will instantly engage the crowd!
Grab your dancing shoes, a lawn chair, family and friends, and join CRI from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, directly in front of Depot on Commerce Street in downtown Culpeper for great music and good times. With 2015’s 3rd Thursday Summer Concert Series line up, it’s easy to see why Culpeper was selected as a 2012 Great American Main Street winner.
Advance tickets are available for $5 per concert or a DISCOUNT SEASON TICKET for all 4 concerts may be purchased for $15 (that amounts to one free concert). All are available up until the day before the event at the following locations: Pepperberries located at 102 North Main Street, Museum of Culpeper History at 113 South Commerce Street, Randy’s Flowers at 211 West Evans Street, Oak View National Bank located at 450 James Madison Highway, and the Culpeper Renaissance office located at 127 West Davis Street. General admission the day of the event is $7 at the gate for those 21 and over. KIDS ARE FREE!
